JNH Observes 21st Foundation Day in Haflong

HAFLONG: Jadikhe Naisho Hoshom (JNH), the apex body of the Dimasa people observed its 21st foundation day on Thursday in the presence of several key leaders of the community in Haflong. Jadikhe Naisho Hoshom was formed in the year 2003 as the apex body for the people of the Dimasa community in the Dima Hasao district of Assam.

The Chief Executive Member of the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council, Debolal Gorlosa attended the event as the chief guest while the Chairperson of the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council, Ranu Langthasa attended the event as the Guest of Honour. Executive Members Nojit Kemprai and Debojit Bathari also attended the event.

The founder president of the Jadikhe Naisho Hoshom, Bohim Chandra Langthasa and current president of the organisation, Kailyan Doulagapu also attended the event along with the general secretary of the Dimasa Student Union, Promith Sengyung along with several other dignitaries.

The new office building of the Jadikhe Naisho Hoshom was also inaugurated by the Chief Executive Member of the council during the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Debolal Gorlosa expressed his happiness on occasion and said, “We want to thank the Chief Minister of Assam for the ongoing development of the region. Under his directives, we are working towards the goals of ‘sab ka saath, sab ka vikas’. Just like the apex body of the Dimasa community has been developed, steps will be taken to develop facilities for other groups as well. These will include the necessary offices and hostels in the region.”

Also, the newly-constructed administrative building of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dima Hasao was inaugurated by Faggan Singh Kulaste, Minister of State for Steel and Rural Development, Government of India at Miyungkhro in Dima Hasao on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, he said, “This KVK in Dima Hasao would play an important role to enhance the knowledge of tribal farmers for multiplying their crop production.”
